In the first week of Advent, we begin by asking: Who is the One who comes for us? The answer is overwhelming and literally awe-some. The God of the universe, the Alpha and Omega—the One who is outside of time and space—chooses to enter our world as a baby. This passage from Revelation paints a cosmic picture of Jesus, reminding us of His eternal nature. And yet, this is the same God who entered into the messiness of human existence. The incarnation is the ultimate act of love, as the eternal God comes to be with us.
