It was just about 90 days ago that school was out for the summer and here we are again at the beginning of a new school year! This could be an exciting (or scary) time of sending your first child off to kindergarten or it could be your child’s senior year and the last time you will be sending them off to school. Or you could be any place in between in this time of life of school days.

I would say that each of us as parents want the best for our children.

• We want them to be safe Back to School Blessing – 2015
• We want them to grow in knowledge
• We want them to be successful

These desires are not only ours but they are our heavenly Fathers. He is the one who said “I know the plans I have
for you, declares to LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11) What a great reminder for us as parents that God has plans for our children.

Hopefully knowing that God has plans for your child and that Jesus is with them always (Matthew 28:20) gives you a good starting place to walk your child through our “Back to School Family Blessing”.

Please take time to work through the blessing which has encouraging bible verses for you to read, questions to discuss, a prayer to use, and a blessing for each child.

As we all start this school year may we “fix your eyes on Jesus” (Hebrews 12:2) and “cast all our burdens on him” (1 Peter 5:7)
