“Of all the commandments, which is the most important?” “The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.” (Mark 12:28b-31)

When you and your own needs are your primary concern, deciding who to take care of first is easy—it’s you! When God transforms us to be self-controlled and “pointed out” toward others, it opens up an unfathomable number of opportunities for “living pointed out”.  Thankfully, God doesn’t expect us to do it all.  There are places where we have a greater responsibility to step up and live pointed out.  Actually, the God-given order for this “living pointed out” is right in the palm of your hand. Read Genesis 12:1-3, Galatians 6:1-10, and Mark 12:28-34.
