Back to series

In each sermon of this series, a voice from the edge reorients our way of life in the world. Today our focus is upon the strange character of John the Baptizer, this weeks voice from the edge. His eyes see the future and his clothing reminds us of the past but his words are all wrapped up in our present, calling us to prepare. The question is “Will God’s people rightly prepare?” The challenge is to move from preparing for a day of polite social interaction to preparing for the person of Jesus. What would it mean to prepare our lives for Jesus? Not the sentimental Jesus, but the powerful Jesus, John describes.Read 1 Corinthians 1:18-31 and Luke 3:1-20.
