We tend to choose our last words carefully because they are what stick. Jesus did the same with His final words before His death on the cross. He voiced parting words to the world as He was leaving and loving through His death. In this series, we’ll examine Jesus’ last words and discover what they teach us about our crucified King and what they mean for those who follow after Him.
Jesus Christ came into the world once and for all to confront sin. He paid its penalty fully and finally. As we contemplate the story of his final victory in death, we are reminded that we have need of cleansing in our lives from sin through his blood and the victory over the grave. Thanks be to God that he gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ! Read Hebrews 9:26b-28 and John 19:28-37.
