A farewell service traditionally has a sense of looking back and reflecting on God’s work in us and through us as a faith community over the season we have served the Savior together. One word that sums up the past and I believe can inspire and propel for the future is that powerful word–“Together.” “Together” is a community word that binds us to each other with Christ in the center of all we are and do. Perhaps what we have been about these past 13 years could also prove inspiring for the years ahead–“Following Jesus Together.” Read Psalm 121, Hebrews 13:20-21, and Matthew 5:14-16.
