The Holy Cross Prayer Chain is a group of highly dedicated people willing to bring the requests of others before the Lord in prayer.
Members provide a few meals to those in our congregation who are having difficulty due to illness, hospitalization/surgery, family loss, or to help support families who have recently had a baby.
Holy Cross prepares and provides a luncheon to be served after funerals.
Church Safety Team (CST)
The Church Safety Team monitors the building and grounds on Sundays, and during special services or programming. The team member on duty will be “in charge” when an emergency occurs.
Main Office Secretary Coverage
Provide substitute coverage for our secretary. This includes answering phones, greeting visitors, and light clerical projects.
Individuals collate our weekly worship folders.
Care for Church Building/Grounds
Skilled and unskilled work crews help with minor repairs and building upkeep.
Serving Sunday Morning Coffee & Cookies
This ministry sets up coffee and cookies each Sunday morning before Education hour.
Children in kindergarten through 5th grade share their love of singing occasionally at worship services.
The Chancel Choir welcomes anyone 9th grade and above to join in singing a variety of music at both worship services.
Praise Team and Youth Praise Team
Using both instrumentalists and vocalists, these teams lead worship at the 11 a.m. service, utilizing a mix of contemporary Christian music and adapted classics.
This group “rings to the Lord a new song!” at worship on a scheduled basis. No musical experience is necessary.
The Puppet Ministry at Holy Cross is a team of young people 6th grade and up. The puppets serve in worship services as scheduled and perform for other groups as requested.
The Holy Cross Orchestra joins our worship for special services at Christmas and Easter. This ensemble is open to all members and friends who play a band or orchestra instrument.
The Stick Ministry is a worshipful dance group that sets stick choreography to music during worship on special occasions.
Prepared with a warm smile and a welcoming handshake, Sunday morning greeters welcome members and guests alike before both worship services.
Ushers assist people in worship by distributing worship bulletins, collecting the offering, and assisting the deacons in the general running of worship services. Men, women, and youth are welcome to serve as ushers.
Audio Visual Team
Interested individuals will be trained to operate the sound system and/or worship slides for worship services.
Members with a friendly face, a helpful spirit, and who have some knowledge about Holy Cross are available to offer information and answer questions at our welcome desk on Sunday mornings before and after services.
This group cares for the altar and also the paraments (altar cloths). They set up for Holy Communion, Baptisms, and decorate for special worship services.
Prayer after Worship
This group offers a time of personal prayer, after the worship service, for those who have specific prayer needs.
This group of volunteers help assist our Pastors with greeting each Sunday.
